I’ve lived in the Current for the past 2 years, it’s a great location (right near the river & downtown Richmond) and a nice building. It’s very convenient, plus the facilities are new. The maintenance is fine, I personally haven’t had any problems. The few things I didn’t like so much was the parking is hard to find around the building (if your not paying for parking in the garage) and the Fire Alarms go off fairly often. It’s gone off at 2am three times in the past couple weeks, which is pretty... annoying. Not sure why, idk if it’s a maintenance issue or what. But 6 times in the past 6 weeks is absurd. But other than that it’s a great place to live. I’ve enjoyed my stay here, but am ready to move.

Nice, new building that gives you the modern feel but with great prices! This was my first apartment by myself and the staff, especially Caitlin, made the process so easy and manageable for me. The affordability is surprising with the quality you get from the units.

I love living here. My apartment is nice. It gets a little loud at times, but honestly doesn’t bother me too much unless it’s super late at night. The management is great, especially Grace and Ethan. They are super friendly and know what they are doing.

Wow, was my first impression when I walked through the doors. The build is amazing and everyone was super helpful. There's a brewery and food hall just down stairs.

I am extremely disappointed by management. The day after I moved in my apartment it flooded from a 20 min rain storm. damaged a tv, my clothes and important papers were damaged. Management was unwilling to move me while servpro fans were in my apartment for 5 days. They have not done anything to correct the problem which they were aware of before I moved in. I would not recommend this property to anyone due to management inability to properly resolve issues that they are aware of. I have... Richmond Code Enforcement coming to inspect because I have no faith that management is going to correct the problem. This is by far the worst move in experience I have had in my entire life. I expressed my concern for mold and the flooding happening again and was not given any assurances that the issue would be fixed. Do not move here if peace of mind is what you are looking for. They will not correct any issues with the apartments.

Property Manager at The Current responded to this review
We are so sorry this happened right after moving in. This is not the experience we want for our residents and also why we strongly encourage a full coverage renter's insurance policy. We have fixed the cause of the flooding as well as hired a... professional remediation company to ensure there will be no mold growth in the future. We hope you are happy with the actions we have taken with you since this incident and are enjoying the new apartment. Please reach out to the office if you have any further questions.
